Community Ministry

Grace Bible Church is a group of believers who are trying to make a difference in the community God has put us in. To that goal we have several ministries that are designed to reach our neighbors and share God's love with them. These ministries answer the needs around us, for prayer, for food, for a safe place to have family fun and for a place to get help when they need it.

Neighborhood Prayer

We have a group of people that go door to door each week and ask our neighbors if they have any prayer requests. This opens the door to talk to them and while most don't give a prayer request on the first visit they appreciate the offer and the care that was taken for them. When we do get a prayer request there are several different groups that pray for the requests and if appropriate we will follow up with them to see how an event went. We have a lot of hurting people around us, as does every community, and this group of people reach out to those who may never come to a service but need to know God loves and cares for them.

Food Pantry

Grace Bible Church has a food pantry for those in our community that don't have enough to eat. It is stocked by our congregation and administered in the church office and is available to all. In the past few years, as the areas economy has taken a down turn this ministry has seen a real surge and we are happy to have had this in place and ready to meet the need.

Harvest Fest

Each October we have a fall festival we call Harvest Fest. This is a time of fun, food and games for our church and community. We have a costume contest for kids, a chili cook-off, and cake and pie baking contests which after they are judged everyone eats. The church provides hot dogs and drink and everyone gets their fill. We also have many games for the kids with prizes and candy. At this event we also offer some health screening put on by a local clinic and we always have the local blood bank there with their blood mobile. This is a great way to spend an afternoon with our neighbors and get to know them better.

Christmas Concert

For the last several years we have taken our Christmas Concert outside where the whole neighborhood can enjoy it. The adult and children's choirs puts on a wonderful concert under the stars that presents the gospel and a speaker talks for a few minutes about how what is presented ties in to the Gospel message. After the concert everyone is fed holiday goodies and we have another opportunity for lots of fellowship with our neighbors.

Other Opportunities

We also have several one time opportunities that let us serve our neighbors and give us a chance to show God's love to them. We are a community of believers that serve God right here in our "Jerusalem" as well as around the world.
